You see, writing is one of my passions. It borders on obsession. You'll understand that: the burning desire to express yourself, to free all these great stories that have nibbled away at you for years ....

As an author, I'm probably best known for my best-selling seven-book series for girls about the sensational spylet, Jane Blonde®, with hundreds of thousands of copies sold in over 20 different countries and 10 languages, and featuring in the Times Top 10 bestseller list.

Published by the 'big six', I have several other children's books out from picture book to teen, and am lined up to do many more. I've got several adult novels under my belt too, and a number of options for my books to be turned into TV or film.

Before becoming an author, however, I spent 15 years in HR and Training and Development in corporate life, winding up as director of T&D for a huge telecommunications company. I've now been a coach, trainer and public speaker for 25 years, and it's much a part of me as writing.

My other great love, you see, is helping other people to fulfil their dreams and their potential.

Since 2004 I've combined writing and development work in the Jill Marshall Author Academy. My e-learning and live seminars help writers begin, shape and hone their work, from 1000 word picture books to 100,000 word novels of any genre, for any age.

For those who are further along, I offer one-to-one Coaching for personal guidance and editing on

an ongoing basis over a year - whatever it takes to take you towards your dream.

And then the ultimate goal for so many authors – publication. Seeing someone I've worked with become published is as great a thrill for me as seeing my own books come to life! That's why I've established the Publishing Program, with six months of weekly teleconferences covering all aspects of the routes to publication, to co-create new best-selling authors with the know-how to do it all for themselves.

Finally, for those focussed and talented individuals who know they've got what it takes to go from whoa to go, from potential to published, there's my Author Academy Program. Working with me and the team for nearly two years, I'll take you on a hero's journey, from first thinking about writing to conquering the world of books.
